July 2014 Newsletter

Ahoy, Passionate People,

June was an exciting time for us at Passionate Produce! A trip to Seattle meant that we got to connect with some of the wonderful sex geeks of the Northwest:

  • Koe Creation is an up-and-coming sexuality educator who overwhelmed us with per enthusiasm for sex-positivity and per excitement about a non-profit Passionate Produce!
  • Cunning Minx, the fabulous creator and host of the Polyamory Weekly podcast, graciously shared her time with us as well a host of wonderful ideas about how we can better serve sex-positive educators and activists as well as people who want to hear their message.
  • Allena Gabosch, co-founder and Executive Director of The Center for Sex Positive Culture, let us pick her brain on founding and running a sexuality-based nonprofit.

Also in June, our friend Dr. X. Treme launched a crowdfunding campaign for the Ambrosia Vibe, a strap-on that responds to touch! Read our take on this toy -- if you decide you want one, you've only got until July 17 to contribute to the campaign.

Coming up this month, our fearless leader Dr. Kristen Stubbs will be presenting "The Sex Geek as Culture Hacker" at HOPE X in NYC on Saturday, July 19.

"Being a nerd is not about what you love; it's about how you love it." Wil Wheaton's words ring true for many self-identified geeks and nerds. But what happens when what you love is "love," or even "lust"? In this talk, Kristen "where did this b!tch get her doctorate" Stubbs shares stories from the sex geek trenches: the awesome, the awkward, and the randomness in between.

Enjoy your July! We'll update you again in August. In the meantime, keep us company on Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter.

Peace,
~The Passionate Producers
