March 2015 Newsletter

Ahoy, Passionate People,

Making progress on this nonprofit in February felt about as slow as digging out of Boston's record snowfall.  A lot of my energy went to the NELA Fetish Fair Fleamarket, where we had a great teasecraft/kinky crafter meetup. After polishing up our nonprofit strategic plan, I spent a lot of time working on our name. I plan to announce the final result next month!

In other fun, sex-positive news:

For those of you who are fans of physics-based sex toys, my friend Dr. X. Treme and his collaborators have just released the X2 Orgasmatron! (Not sure if the X2 is right for you? Check out this Oh Joy Sex Toy review of its predecessor, the X1, to get you started.)

I've been captivated by the new indie film "Twice: A Polyamorous Love Story" by Polyamorous Productions. If you'd like to see more rom-coms where the answer is AND, not XOR, go make a pledge before Wednesday, March 16.

#sexletterchallenge updates: Have you submitted a letter to your teenage self yet? Check out these powerful words from recent letters:

  • "Being bisexual isn’t a phase, and no one is allowed to tell you otherwise." -- from Fish's letter
  • "What I wish you knew about sex is that learning about it is fun!" -- from Angel's letter
  • "You need to advocate for your own pleasure." -- from Karen's letter

And if you haven't seen it already, Rock Star Dinosaur Pirate Princess has written a  phenomenal essay about consent and tea:

"If someone said 'yes' to tea around your  house last saturday, that doesn’t mean that they want you to make them tea all the time. They don’t want you to come around unexpectedly to their place and make them tea and force them to drink it going 'BUT YOU WANTED TEA LAST WEEK', or to wake up to find you pouring tea down their throat going 'BUT YOU WANTED TEA LAST NIGHT'."

Enjoy your March, and I look forward to chatting with you in April!

Peace,
~Kit Stubbs, Ph.D.
